In the case of a Discrete Option Multiple Choice test, the learner is given the answers one after the other and not, as in a conventional Multiple choice test, all at once. The learner must decide whether the answer given is correct or not. The answers (options) are given until an incorrect answer is designated as being correct. Or until the correct answer is designated as being incorrect. The test is then cancelled and is regarded as failed.
The success of test knowledge and guess strategies is thereby significantly reduced since every answer must be evaluated on its own merit and without contextual factors.
